The reason for the establishment of the “LYCIA” is based on the material gathering which started by each of us for different reasons; but the main reason was our love for our ancestors and the interest to know our land and our families through the historical records and the remnants of the past with historical, cultural or simply sentimental value.

The initial group of researchers has acquired an organizational scheme to be able to act more easily and to achieve better conditions for carrying out the work.

The Charter of the non-profit organization, The Society of Historical Research “LYCIA”, refer to the date of establishment on 6th December 2017, the day hallowed by Saint Nicholas, which is also assumed as the birthday of our organization.
